Shining Force Series

~Shining Force~ One thousand years ago, an evil dragon attempted to take over/destroy Rune. The people of the time, fought furiously, and succeeded in subduing him. Unfortunately, he vowed to return, and they weren't able to completely destroy him. They were only able to cast him into another dimension. After some time, the people of Rune forgot the looming theat, well, most people did. Peace reigned, and this allowed a powerful mage to gain control of people in Protectora, and form Runefaust. (Faust means the same as bane, which is the same as antagonist, and enemy. ;P) The mage, called Darksol, used this power to begin the search for the items necessary for Dark Dragon's return, and the story opens with a request for help, to keep Dark Dragon from rising again.
~Shining Force 2~ Some time after the events of the first Shining Force, another evil creature arises from the depths. In the country of Granseal, an evil power is 'sealed' away, and two jewels are placed in a shrine to keep it bound. One dark, stormy night, a thief takes the jewels, and this causes all h-e- double hockey sticks to come loose.
~Shining Force 3~ Political tensions arising, and a king is kidnapped. Three heroes, one a child of the Republic, one a prince of the Empire, and one a mercenary, lead three armies to battle the forces of evil. Sorry about the sad story line, and nasty cliches, but I didn't get my hands on this game, and therefore have to make do with memory. (Mine bites =<) I'll correct it as I can :P.
~Shining Force: Return of the Dark Dragon~ With the same basic story line as the original Shining Force, this version adds three new people, extra conversations and a few twists to the story to keep it from being an exact copy with new graphics.
~Shining the Holy Ark~ A group of mercenaries chases a political fugitive into a series of caverns, only to have the caves fall in on them. One of the mercenaries is then possessed by one of the alien entities whose ship caused the cave-in and the rest of the team, has to work with the fugitive, who no longer remembers anything, to find out what exactly is going on anymore.
~Shining Tears~ Found washed up on the shore of a river, a young man named Xion must work off the debt to the elf who found him, the doctor who healed him, and the innkeeper who lent him a room. There just wouldn't be a game if that was all there was, so the rest of the game is spent in finding out who he is, and why in the world a neighboring country suddenly decided to invade.
~Shining Force Gaidens~ One of the Gaidens takes place roughly sixteen years after the first Shining Force, and involves many of the relatives of the characters in the same game. It also drags in a prince of a nearby land. The second involves a young man with amnesia who later winds up working with the prince from the second. Finally, there is one that involves a young man chasing after Max, who went off in search of the people trying to bring Dark Dragon back a third time.
