| After defeating Ansem, Sora, Donald and Goofy wander along, trying to follow Pluto to where they think King Mickey will be. Upon finding a castle, they decide to explore it. That leads to the memories of all three, and even worse, all of the people they know, being erased and modified to suit the needs of beings calling themselves Organization XIII. |
| Sora When his home of Destiny Island is destroyed by the Heartless, he's flung to Traverse Town. In Traverse Town, he learns that he is the wielder of the keyblade and it is his job to seal the hearts of planets before the Heartless can steal them. |
Riku Having grown up with Sora, he probably knows Sora's mindset, habits and abilities better than Sora. As you find later in the game, he's just as qualified to wield a keyblade, but the main one we've seen rather likes Sora, thank you. Riku is adopted- sort of- by Maleficent, who wants to manipulate the Heartless to her own ends, and therefore, is led to believe that Sora has forgotten about him and Kairi. |
Leon Met in Traverse Town as he decides to test the Keyblade wielder, he's kind of gruff, but he's still kind. He just doesn't want that getting around. His home was devoured by the Heartless when the "wise man" of the world started experimenting on the Heartless, and reproducing them. Because of the nature of this castle, when Sora meets him this time, he doesn't remember Sora, and slowly, Sora begins to forget too. |
| Cloud The tournament you have to beat him in this time is comprised mostly of running, but he's still out to kill Hercules at Hades' behest. Beating him makes him a summon card which isn't too bad. |
Axel He's one of the unknowns in the game. They call themselves that because they aren't quite Heartless, or maybe they're more than JUST Heartless. Most of the rest of the Unknowns are killed either by each other or Sora, but he has a hand in a few deaths of his own. |
Namine When you first hear of her, you want to be mad at her for manipulating people's memories. When you learn that she's being held captive in the castle, and her only way of having friends is to manipulate Sora, Goofy and Donald, you might feel sympathy for her. You might feel even more when she helps Sora regain his true memories. |
| Zexion One of the quieter Unknowns, he seems to rely on scent more than the others. When Riku's twin decides to absorb others to gain an identity of his own, Zexion is one of the first he targets. *cough* He also looks a lot like Leon with silver hair.*Cough* |
